Default rattle can help!!

Hey guys so I rattle canned my 2000 low rider with rust oleum self etching primer. And the primer color is a cool looking grey, almost gun metal. My question is, can I clear directly over the primer to keep the color? Or will that jack it all up? anyone else do this? thanks kevin

dont see why it would mess it up. its primer. its made to be painted over. the color shouldnt change just by clearing it.

^not so fast. sometimes there are chemical reactions you wouldnt expect, since they dont expect primer to touch clear. Id definitely test it out on a scrap piece or something first!

Be safe and spray some primer on a beer can or something. Spray the clear on it after it dries for a few hours.

I've seen the chemical reaction really screw stuff up before.

if it comes down to it, you could find the color paint you wanted (even if it is the same color as your primer) and paint the normal way.

To each his own, but denim black looks like denim black. Denim grey looks like grey primer, unless you gloss clear coat it and it has a nice shine! JMO

I did it on some custom parts I made. It changes so little you can't see the difference.
I used the same paint you mentioned but I used automotive high gloss clear for car paint. It was a rattle can to.
