IAC movement distance...
Hi.
I've searched for an answer on related posts regarding stalling on deceleration. Most point to the IAC plunger (?) being stuck and to clean it. The question is = Can you see the plunger move when it is free or is it such a minute distance that you can't see it?
This a 2006 streetbob. The stalling just started today. Has been trouble free all along....
Any input is appreciated ---

You can see and hear the IAC move when you engage the "run" switch (with the key on).
You don't need to be spraying it at that moment.
Air cleaner has to be off, and you have to be in position, looking up, to see it. I don't know how much it moves, not much, like 1/4 inch max.

Feel like a dumb$ss...
Someone posted in a different thread that the IAC was on the outside of the throttle body in the 11:00 position. It is inside the throat and at 12:00 position.
After finding this out, I feel like such a fool! Putting the dunce cap on now...

Don't beat yourself up. The IAC is installed on the outside of the throttle body but the step motor is cleaned from the inside.

Thanks nevil - Learn something new everyday. By the way, you have some awesome roads to ride down in Pa. Those hills and mountains around the Adirondack valleys and Hyner park are the northeast Dragons tail! Love riding 4001, 144 and 120.
