Maybe throw up a few pics of where it's going too...might be able to look at both and get it figured out for you
I mounted the bracket to the cowl. Placed the cowl in front of the headlight to mock up the appearance. It leaves the mounting bracket BELOW the riser bolt holes... Hope this helps...

Ahh...You have a street bob with the integrated ones? That may be the deal...Did they say it would fit a Street bob specifically?
In the description of the eBay listing, yes rtated its compatible with my year and model. I've seen a few other street bobs with them as well on here. Can anybody that has one on their Bob chime in...? Thanks all!
Thats not going to work with the Street Bob, not without some fabrication. Thats supposed to fit bikes with top mount headlights. Super Glide, Sportsters...etc
+1 on this. Can't trust ebay sellers. The bike shown in the pics has a top mount light on narrowglide forks.
And here's the description from the link you provided: To fit 1973-UP Harley Sportster Dyna FX/XL with 39mm narrow Glide forks.

Here's pictures of the cowl, mounting bracket, hardware, and how I assume the bracket mounts to the cowl itself...
I think you bought the wrong one. The one you have is meant for sportster bikes with the top visor over the headlight. The metal bracket definitely does not bolt any where to your trees.
The one I have doesn't have that metal bracket. It just came with a plastic cup the fits over the back of the headlight then you put the visor in front. It sandwiches the headlight bucket and there are 5 screws.
Hope this helps...... eBay can be a ******.......

You need the night rod fairing, which works on 06+ dyna bobs
Few pics:
I had to space mine out about 1/2" by using some plastic spacers I got at ace. I placed themin between the screws of th fairing and the back cup bracket. This gave me a snug fit.
