Well I worked everything out with the owner and bank...and looks like today I get to get a 2001 Street Glide I've been eyeing. I had asked last week before about the bike (I mistakenly thought it was a wide glide).
Bike is a 2001. It has 15K miles, been upkept (fluids changed regurally). No internal engine work done (no one's messed with the cams n stuff). Screaming Eagle airfilter, rejetted carb, drag pipes. It has straight though not as short as night train handlebars. Forward controls. backrest for passenger. Just has a speedo. Spoke wheels. New tires. Some chrome parts (primary cover) customized mirrors. layed back liscense plate, different blinkers. larger (150) rear tire. plus he's giving me all the stock HD parts that were taken off
All this for $10K
I think it is a good deal. I have never seen a BT-HD sell for this, especially as late of year as it is (2001).
Anything I should be prewarned about on Dynas? How much less does a rubber mounted BT shake compared to my 97 sportie? Anything?
I don't think you are getting a Street Glide. The Street Glide didn't come out until 2006. Could you be talking about a SuperGlide, since you are putting it is the same class as the Wide Glide? If this is the case, 10,000 is pretty much in line with the market. A new one without the extras is around 12,500 if I'm not mistaken.
As far as Dynas go, there's nothing in particular to know. They are great bikes, and the Superglide is one of HD's best kept secrets. Compared to your Sportster, there will be NO viberation.
