I picked up a Flanders 18 degree bend drag bar (part# 652-28446) the other day and finished up the install yesterday and finally got to ride with it today. I am 100% totally happy with the way the bike feels now. I kept thinking it was the seat that was the problem, but now I know it was the stock bars. I'm a rather tall guy (6'6") and the extra room up front with the new bars makes the seat feel so much better. I'm not sitting on the very back hump anymore and my *** bone feels better. The bars are 26" wide(the specs on the website and the specs on the package and what they actually measured were all different), and I kinda wish I woulda got the longer ones but I wanted the least amount of pull back as possible. I also put a set of harley 'get a grip' grips on, which I also really like. They are a little bit fatter than the original and help out with my large hands. I wish grips on every bike were this easy to change.
So right now I have the stock risers turned around to give me a little more push forward, the new bars and spacer jim's 1" riser spacer, putting the height to the bottom of the bar at a little over 5.5". I think with the stock cable's I should be able to go 6", so I'm gonna ride like this for a while and over the winter get the la choppers 6" risers. I do not want to have to change the cables. In retrospect, I wish I would have got the bike with the mini apes so I could have just went with 8" or 10" Tbars with no problems. But like I said I'm very happy with the way it is now. All I have to do now is figure out what fairing I want to get...
