Some of you might of seen in my other thread I'm looking at picking up a T-sport.
I was told it was an 02 but when I ran the VIN it came up as an 01....
Could the bike be an 02, if it was built early in the year it might come up as an 01... but in fact be an 02 model?
Haven't talked to the guy yet, but I'm wondering is there any differences between the years?
I've heard the 00-02 motors are the best, but there's something about the swingarm or axles being updated in 02?
Any insight would be appreciated... I still want this bike, but I'm wondering if this affects things... or maybe something else I should be looking into.
Not positive, but it seems like I remember reading that the rear tire size changed somewhere in the 00-02 range. I want to say it went from a 130 to a 150 but don't hold me to that. Without googling or searching on here I couldn't say "for sure". My dx is an 02 and stock tire size is 150. That I am sure of.
Yeah from what I can see the 01 has a 130 rear tire, 2002 they switched to a new swingarm rear fender and 150 tire.... which was weird because the fxdx had a 150.
I thought they were exactly the same minus bags and fairing.
00-02 had the timken crankshaft bearings..i want to say that 99 also had them but dont hold me on it.solid bottom end..in 02 they changed them out.only shitty things is the chain tensioner ..check around 20k or before if possible..throw either gear drive..or if ur flywheel is to far gone hydrolic chain tensioner in that baby and ur golden. i have a 2000 fxdx and love it. t sports have a different tripple tree and rear fender.
