I was having bad buffeting with my stock shield as well. I have 11.5 Cee Baileys. It has worked out really well for me.
What bar set-up are you running? I definitely want that shield, just don't want the bars higher than the shield.
I'm planning on adding a set of Forbidden 9" risers, with Pro Tapers so they'll be about 12" of total rise.
Also, what color did you go with? They offer light gray, dark gray and stright black. I'm sure the black would look the best, but I'm weary of not being ableto see through it. Especially when night riding.
Yeah, all black definitely looks better... I guess with taller bars and the gauges sitting right there you can't really see directly in front of you anyways.
I just trimmed my stock shield down to 11.5", it was scratched pretty bad so its no loss.
I'll see how the wind buffering is and decide what height I want for sure.
Went for a ride with the 11.5" shield... still buffers bad, a little better with the screen rocked forward though.
I wish I would of cut it to 14" first... then chopped some more off to compare all heights.
I like the look of the short shield but the 14" might work a little better.
I was set on the 11.5 black, now I dont know what to do. I can clearly see over the 11.5 so that's no big deal... just dont wanna get the 14 if it's gonna be no different.
You can see how hazy it is in these pictures, after trying to buff out the scratches.
I just installed the fairing with 14.5" shield. I'm gonna test ride it tomorrow and then ill throw up some pics, it's definitely a little taller than the rifle.
