I need some advise I have a stock 09 fat bob except for pipes 4300 miles I am starting to hear what sounds like marbles after half throttle under a load I guess its the pinging so often mentioned on here. I use premium gas what are my options ?
I am going to try a different gas station maybe bad gas (went there last few times?) what about xieds? it does seem to do it when hot would this cure it? will it set codes?

Could be bad gas, how long has it been doing this? if it has just been on this one tank of gas then it very well could be the gas.
As far as the Xied's go if the pinging is being caused by a lean condition then they could possibly help out. Kinda a crap shoot but even if they don't cure all your pinging they will probably make your bike happier overall.
One thing I have noticed is that after 4-6K miles a lot if the newer bikes seem to develope some pinging. The timing is so far advanced in order to meet emission standards that it doesn't take much to get them pinging. After you get a few thousand mile on them they get enough carbon build up on the pistons to bump the compression a kunt hair. Add that to the advance timing and it pings. The only real gauranteed way to fix it is a tuner that allows you to modify your spark advance. You might be able to run some seafoam through it and add the Xied's to get it to go away but it's not a gaurantee.
