Default Do slip-ons affect performance?

I asked this question is another thread but I guess it got lost. I'm putting a V&H Twin Slash on a stock Switchback with no other mods... All I'm after is a bike that sounds like a Harley should, but I if get more power without loosing any of the engines manners I won't complain. I definitely don't want to loose any power especially low end.
So what's the word?

Yea, it allows the exhaust to breath more easily. With just slip ons will you get a bunch of power compared to a full system, no. You honestly won't even notice the difference, they do sound nice though. I have the same slip ons.

You'll probably be happy with SC slip-ons. I really was. Seemed to up the power (maybe my imagination), but I definately liked the sound. Rumble like a Harley. Takes a little while to break them in however. I have a great sound now but they've been on awhile. To me the 96TC has all the power I need and didn't have to do any other adjustments and no "pop on decel" issues. But I'm 70 years old too.

just slips will change the sound dramatically, don't expect to gain any power though, just the sound will make it feel better! But power .....no.

Will sound much better but you'll lose some low end, due to lower back pressure.

How much low end ... Will it be enough to actually feel?

There's some odd advice been given here.

You can get just as much power increase from a pair of slip-ons as a system. The only difference between them being that there's a joint in the middle.

Having said that, there are poor slipons and poor systems, good ones of both too.

If you aren't going to the finish the stage-1 with a better flowing air cleaner and tuning changes then it will make little difference which you go for.

Not a whole lot. But I could feel the difference in the 2000 rpm range. I just removed the Rush mufflers I had and went back to stock. Currently waiting on my V&H Big shots. But I agree that a tuner is the key to maximizing any modification.

I'm selling the Rush Slip ons in the FS section.

That is what he asked, he isn't going for a full stage one in this question
