I'm might be one of the few....but I'm happy with the performance and manners of my stock engine(2013 Switchback 103ci). I'd be fine leaving it alone, but the stock sound is just odd and doesn't fit the bike at all and I've already had two incidents in the 500mi I've ridden it that I know the car driver did not notice me because they didn't hear me....
So, the slip-on is going on and hoping I'm not opening a can of worms that I have to bother with intakes, tuners and all that crap.

As long as you hold it to just the slips there is absoloutely no need for further mods. Just check the oil, add gas and "RIDE!"
I got the V&H Twin Slash installed yesterday and I couldn't be happier.
My Switchback now sounds like a Harley should. Nice rumble at idle and it comes alive when I get on the throttle....all at the db level I was hoping for.
For the first couple of miles, there was some new decel popping I never heard before but by the time I finished the 100mi shake down cruise the popping was completely gone. Absolutely no loss of performance noted.....maybe its just the nice new sound but I swear the bike runs better.
And they will sound even better after you get a thousand miles on em. For the money you can't beat slip-ons. I went with the Rush slip-ons they give off a nice deep rumble.
The only way to more power is to be able to burn more fuel. Theres just no getting around that, unless of course your starting out with an overly rich air fuel mixture. I seriously doubt that your stock bike is coming out of the factory intentionally over rich. If by some fluke your fuel mixture is on the rich side then anything that allows the engine to take in or exhaust more air will result in a performance increase.
The V&H Fuelpak has different maps for their slip ons for different baffles. Quiet, regular, competition. If they feel the need to have different maps for different baffles it seems likely that they flow differently. Most people would agree that after the baffles that the intake is the next most restrictive component.
