Looking for some opinions on exhausts systems. I currently have V&H 2 into 1 Pro Pipe. Just finished lowering the rear just 1" and my bags sit on my pipe, so I need to go shorter. Anyone running the Bassani Road Rage or V&H Competition 2 into 1? Pros/Cons? Although I do love the low RPM thump of my Pro Pipe, I am a huge fan of Thunderheader noise if that helps for my preference. Youtube just can't do these pipes justice.
Thanks for the input. Not married to any brands so other options for 2 into 1 are appreciated.
Those V&H Competition Pipes look awesome but are very loud and I hear they don't come with heat shields so you will have to deal with that - personally I don't think they are a practical choice. Bassanis are plenty loud but not "over the top" loud. The best one that wont drag is the 1D5250s like I have.
There have been some really good threads on the Bassanis lately - try that Search feature.
Those are the two pipes my engine builder/tuner recommends.
I like the black look and had V&H Staggereds but wasn't happy with the ceramic finish so when I upgraded to the 2-1 I went with the Bassani Road Rage II and love it.

Do u have the rr2 b1? If so, I know they say it's for built engines, but I like the look of it the best. I have 103 w stage 1 and doing cams in a few months. U think this pipe would work well?

They actually have a ton of different models and well mine is the 13121J
which is the long megaphone muffler becuase of my bags. The 13122J is the short megaphone muffler which they claim has a tad better top end performance.
I have a Stage 1 and Dave Mackie 575L cams with a SEPRT. My tuner said either would work.

I would say your motor wouldn't qualify as a modded motor that the B1 was intended for. Check out the rr2 mega power. Looks almost identical to the B1 but for closer to stock.
I'm wanting the 1b18r. It's the perfect look and perfect length for what I want. How would the bike suffer, if at all with this pipe on w stage 1 and cams? Wood 222 btw.
I'm a Bassani guy but I do like the V&H Slant, same as the Roland Sands Slant. Never heard it but it looks pretty cool and I bet it's loud. There are lots of really good 2-2 exhausts out there, you need to shop around and find what your eyes and ears like best.

The pipe is bigger diameter so might loose some bottom end.
I have the pro-pipe also and it is a good pipe. Have you thought of the D&D Bobcat pipe. My bro has one on his FB and it is AWESOME. It is the shortest 2 into 1 next to the competition VH pipe. Just a thought.
