Does anyone have a car tire on the rear of their FXD? Just learned about this and curious if its been done on a dyna yet, and how the performance is. Pictures would be great.
People are saying that on the highway its the best ride they have ever had. Then there was a video I watched on youtube that the guy was making argument that the tire has more contact with the road on turns as well.
When people try to argue the superb handling characteristics of a car tire on a motorcycle I like to point their attention toward the world of Moto GP. All of the most fantastic, cutting edge motorcycle technology can be found on Moto GP bikes. Ever seen one sporting a car tire?

Didn't think so.
Your argument seems to miss the point.
It is for more mileage...not better handling.
Of course a Moto GP tire is going to handle better since that is it's only purpose...and then it gets thrown away after the race.
Buddy of mine just converted on his FLHX. I've ridden it quite a bit, and it takes some getting used to. However, straight line riding (which is probably the majority for most of us) it's awesome. Cornering seems to take more effort than I think it should, but that could be a combo of the tire and the larger bike.
Fitting the rim isn't what I'd be worried about. Staying under the fender and clearing the belt would be a larger issue I think.
