Hey bro. I feel you. My bob came with a badlander on it. Hated it. I have shorter legs, only 5'10" with a long torso, so i wasn't flat footed and uncomfortable as hell. I got a mustang wide day tripper with the optional backrest. It's worlds ahead. I only use the backrest on 3+ hour trips usually, but it's nice to have. Probably could've gotten by without but it's a nice option to have. the seat overall is narrower up front so I have perfect foot placement at a stand still. Love the seat. Can't say enough about it. I might get a touring version some day, but honestly I ride just fine with the tripper.

mustang vintage solo. very comfortable and holds you in tight on acceleration. I like the look, some don't. guarantee you'll like the feel--up to you regarding looks.

I recently swapped out my stock seat for the Mustang Vintage solo and love it! It's funny b/c I felt the same way about flying off the back and gripping tightly when accelerating hard and with this seat I don't feel that way. Also, it is perfect for the longer rides. I just knocked out a 270 miles ride on Saturday with 1 stop for lunch and my **** was fine, where when I had that piece of plywood feeling stock seat I could never do a ride like that and feel fine afterwards.

Maybe it just me, but I have 36k on my stock seat (2010 Street Bob) and use a windshiled on long trips. Maybe all those miles have broken in the seat or maybe I just don't care. I have been on 18hr+ rides and sat in that seat for more then a 1000 miles in a one day trip. After about 10hrs of riding my back does start to hurt some, but after stopping for the day, I could go more if I wanted or need to.

Anyway, back to your question, while I was in Milwaukee for the HD party, I looked at the Mustang and Corbin solo seats for that little bit of back support your after. The Corbin was super nice and as soon as I sat in the saddle I could tell the difference, like night and day from the stock, I could feel the back support the second I was in it, even thought I couldn't see the support when looking at the seat. I wish I had the cash for the seat, it would be on the bike now. I guy at Corbin told me that hen you get one of their seats, they will make any needed changes (padding, shaving, more or lesss back support) to the seat for free in the first year. TThe Mustang seat was nice, but the guy was just there to sale the seat, he couldn't tell me anything about what Mustang would do to make the seat comfy if I needed changes made, total idiot if you ask me. The seat was nice, but no back support unless you add the back rest. Mind you, both seats where solo seats and not the fat touring types.

Contact Mean City Cycles. They are a sponsor on this forum. They can add gel or reshape the seat. I had them reshape my stock 09 Bob seat and I love it. Long rides are no longer a pain in the @$$ and it's a lot cheaper than a new seat.

Here where i live the moco closed their shop because they, didn't sell anything because of the financial crisis (in my country there is a tax for road weichecles on 180%!! Crazy ****. New price for my street bob is 51000$) But their mecanich bought all of their tools and ****, and started his own shop. He just became authorised dealer of mustang seats last week, so guess I will help his little shop and buy it from him. Really nice guy. But he hasn't got a showroom so i only have the pictures and info you provide:-)

The real johnny - looks great man! And I believe that the backrest is nice to have for some really long rides. It kills the looks a little on your daily joyride, but for a roadtrip I could imagine you would love it..

Fskitch and sigtau150- sounds great.. Is it ok with the normal solo or should i go for the wide one? Like the looks on the normal solo.. Like som pictures and info on the wide..

Sigtau150.. Pics please

Blueangel - real nice info.. Will look into that

Fencese.. Not a good option with my location.. Guess the place you talk about is in the us?

Maybe someone can tell me if the "edge" that supports the lower bag is higher on the wide version? I am having a hard time desiding. I am affraid the wide will be too clumsy looking.. But in the next breath I really think it looks so comfortable.. Just kind of needs the right pictures or a video to assure me the wide still looks cool on the bike
