Default Clutch release

Have around 300 miles on my 2014. Ive noticed the clutch engagement spot seems to vary. Ive road bikes for many years, mostly dirt, but this is my 2nd harley/street bike. idk maybe its just me but I cant get over how this is engaging.

It is cooling off and maybe its just temperature related, but again not like this is different from past riding experience.

Does this seem like a common trait?

There is a slight change with temperature... The freeplay will increase and the engagement will get slightly closer to the grip as the bike warms up. This is perfectly normal.

I agree. Same story with my '13. I've noticed that after riding for a bit and then parked for a few minutes, when I start back up and continue on that first grab is much earlier than I expect it to be, and have to be careful not to lug it at first. Always after a short stop.
