I just finished installing new bars, wiring and switches yesterday. Everything was going good until this afternoon, about 220 miles later. I hit the left turn signal button and was waiting at a light when I looked down and noticed that the green arrow on my dash wasn't blinking. Once I got home, I noticed the only running light (besides the rear brake light) was the right front. The back right comes on if i hit the signal, but I have no lights on the left and the rear bulb is blown.

Any ideas if this is related to the new bars.. or just coincidence?

Also, the red key is lit up on my speedo.. not sure why.

The red light security light is on because it sees a turn signal problem. Did you try putting in a new bulb?
I doubt it's a coincidence since you just changed a lot of stuff, you could have pinched a wire or two and it took a few miles to wear through. Go over everything you did one step at a time, you'll probably find it.

 

i swapped the bulb from the right rear to the left and it works just fine.. and didn't blow. It was too late when I got back in town to get new bulbs, so I'm gonna give that a shot tomorrow.
