Redid the signals on my '04 and didn't have to do a thing except move them down to the fork legs with the new brackets. Why do you have to remove the tank and access the wiring harness? There should be more than enough wire already showing to move the signals.
Acccording to the HD instruction this is necessary and you have to redo the
connectors that are in the compartment under the tank to do the relocation.
I guess it is the way the wires are routed or something.
I did my 04 Roadster the way you did your Dyna and tank had nothing to do with
it.
That is why I sent the Email to see if the pre 06 relocation was the same.
I will have a definative answer whe I complete the job.
The moco ran the turn light wires internally through the switch housings on the 06; no longer can you just simply unbolt them and re-locate them. Yee- ha.. sounds like fun...
Willie, did your bike miss at slow speeds like you mention before you put the slip ons on??
I have the same bike on order and i'm watching these forums like a hawk
Thanks
ps- In the end, would you do it all over again. I'm trading in a lowrider (02)
Yep has done it from day one.
Slip ons made no difference, maybe a bit better
if anything. I just checked my plugs and they are both
white so it would seem it is runnning lean. Wish it had
a carb could remedy it in minutes !
In all honesty if I had an 02 Low Rider I do not think I would trade on an 06 Bob.
I traded an 04 Roadster on my 06 Dyna not sure if I would do it again or not.
Probably would.
Thanks *****, I keep going back and forth on my decision. Based on all i have read, we might have to spring for the SERT in order to re-map our bikes for the performance we are looking for. There is a new 06 map available for stage one but it's only good for stock slip ons. kinda wierd. If you read between the lines, the moco is making it harder to tune EFI bikes. I wouldnt be suprised if harley even pulls the SERT eventually.
If i do take delivery, i will be buying the SERT almost immediately.
400 for only 4 maps?? Might as well cough up another 50 and have access to hundreds of maps with the SERT; not to mention the ability to fine tune things and create your own maps based on the specific mods you have. I know we are way off subject from the title, sorry. didnt mean to steer away from the blinker relocation, let me know how that goes cause i intend to do the same thing.
I also plan on getting the p pad, side plates and sissy bar you bought as well.
1)Did you get detachable side plates?
2)Also, how hard is it to remove the P pad and go solo again??
3)Does the P pad scratch up your fender underneath where it sits??
I plan on removing all that **** when momma's not riding with me but i dont want to take an hour or so to do all that..
Billybobber, I have an 05 FXDWGI, and I just purchased a Power Commander 3 to go with my new pipes. I think the PC3 is available for 06 Dynas now. I can make my own maps on my computer, or go down to my motorcycle shop and put it on the Dynojet for them to tune. It offers more adjustability than the Fuel pak. I didn't look into the SERT's though. Very happy with my PC3.
