Hi
I live in the UK,
I have a 2011 wide glide. Recently I had noticed that during low speed, some vibration on the right side. After stopping I gave the bike a good going over and could find nothing, until today.
As I was about to ride home from work, I started her up, gave the bike a quick once over, and heard rather than felt the vibration. Looking down towards the rear light and number plate, I noticed that on the right side of the rear light was a 4" long crack and on the other a 2 " crack running up the fender towards the rear of the seat.
I am clueless ( steady) . There is no sign of damage against the light, it's housing or the number plate. I haven't dropped it either. I can only assume that some has backed/ pushed into it or the rear wheel has bottomed out against the fender, however I know the roads are ***** but not that ***** as to cause that amount of damage?
As anyone else had any similar problems?
I have a 2010 Street Bob, on my third fender after the other two cracked, last week my third fender cracked. It is no longer under warranty but my dealership is looking to see if HD will replace it since it is a known problem with alot of that style fenders. The cracks were in the same place you mentioned.n Take it in they will replace it for you.
