took inspiration from someone on this but had to mod my PM grip to get it to work. Had a local machinist mill about 1/4" off to expose the hole, then installed the mirror.
Another option I could have done was drill a 3/8th hole through the end grip. There are 2 problems with this. 1, the end of the grip is slightly domed and for the mirror to fit right (and look right) would need to be milled down anyways. 2) the grip is held on with 2 set screws. Adding weight to just the grip itself and not the bar would have caused the grip to vibrate.
Had a pair of Arlen Ness ovals on there (putting them up for sale) which looked great..but I love the cleaned up look.
Looks good. I've considered trying to figure out how to get a set of bar end mirrors on my bike, but I just don't know if the juice is worth the squeeze. Can you post a few shots with more of the front end? Like, possibly from in front of the bike?
Nice! I've been thinking about bar end mirrors for some time now. Can you post some pictures from futher away and at angles. I'd like to see how the mirrors looks with the whole bike in the picture.
I've been thinking about switching to end mirrors. Did you mount directly to the bar or did you use the crg mirror adapter?
I used the bar end adapter. I originally purchased the 1" adapter but it doesn't work with the west coast t- bars so I took the. 7/8" adapter off my cb750 and added some duct tape to make it fit.
I did this last year also and love the look, looking out over the bars with nothing sticking up, makes the bike look .low slung.....and my bar end, from south east customs is vibration free...
