Ok, had my wide glide about 2-3 weeks now and I've got a few questions... I've got about 400 miles on it now and love it!
1. It seems to bottom out over bumps and does it significantly more when riding two up and my passenger def. isn't a fan. Is that normal for the bike or is something off?
2. The transmission sounds awful loud.. I took it to the stealership to ask about it and they wanted to charge me a 100 bucks to ride my bike if they didn't find anything wrong with it. To me when I down shift it. It sounds loud as hell, and physically feels like it shifts down into gear hard as hell.. Is this normal? Or is there something really wrong with it?
Love this bike a TON, just wanting to make sure it's all right.
1. You probably need to dial up the shocks to a stiffer setting from factory. They are generally set low, and probably need to be at the 5th setting. Especially for two up riding.
2. Mine shifts into gear with a somewhat loud and positive "clunk". Probably nothing to worry about.
My '13 also clanks into gear very loudly. I took it to dealership twice. First time they put in "Bell Ray" oil, supposed to help with shifting, it didn't. Second time my salesman rode my bike and told me this is normal. It just doesn't seem right, but guess I will just have to get used to it, maybe louder pipes!

Just my
Agreed. I'd say dial in those shocks and you should be alright. As far as the clunking, mine is pretty clunky. On my last fluid change I put in transmission fluid in the primary instead of oil and I noticed it easier to shift, find neutral, and is less "clunky". Also, Mobil 1 in the transmission seemed to help

Just put 16" ape hangers on my 2013 Wide Glide. Did a front turn signal relocation at the same time. Now I'm getting error codes that I can't figure out:
b-1101 and 1151 = Turn signal bulbs out.
Bulbs are fine, lights work fine, error code recurs.
b-2169 = Running Light Output Overload
WTF is this?
b-1210 = Fuel Sender Short/ Fuel Gauge Circuit Open
I plugged everything back in as far as I can tell (1 plug under the tank right?) and can't clear this code. Fuel gauge doesn't work at all (versus not working worth a damn before) and Low Fuel Light flashes constantly with half a tank of gas.
On a related note, the bike came with 5 1/2" risers. With the apes they wobble all over the place and are twisted out of square. Any suggestions aside from new, shorter risers?
****Solved****
Twisted bulb baseplate causing a short.

Reason: Problem solved
To the OP, my Wide Glide bottoms out far more often than my Street Bob did, just a function of the lower ground clearance I guess. The downshifting thing is rather subjective, I don't really know what you're experiencing but it may just be the normal "clunk" in first.
