I went from mid to HD forward controls on my 2010 FXDC and then to the HD Footboard kit. The Footboards rule and I am finally satisfied with the foot controls on my bike.

IF you have HD forward controls and do not use the transmission gear shift lever and primary cover gasket in the HD Footboard kit http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J05615.pdf and you include those items in your "used" forward control kit then you will have a complete "used" HD forward control kit.

IF you do not change the transmission gear shift lever by removing the primary cover you should be able to complete the installation in a couple of hours.

Go for it, you won't be disappointed.

I went from mids to the footboard kit......no regrets at all. And much more room to move around.

I also went from mid to forward then footboards, on my bike I did not remove the shifter shaft, left it there as I didn't want to go thru the expense of removing the complete primary, doing it this way it only took me about 1 hour.

I am extremely pleased with the footboards as i can now place my feet more forward or move them back giving me more choice on feet placement, the big thing for me was my feet would slide off the pegs of the forward controls at freeway speed and with the footboards they do not, legs feel more relaxed now at freeway speed.

I hope not, but you might have some clearance issue on exhaust side from the picture in your signature.

I installed mine before HD came out with a kit for doing it. I love them. Far more comfortable then forward pegs.

Hey Bob, did you just replace your forward pegs with footboards? I think I might like to install some on my 09 SG.

he HD footboard kits are for 06 and up, I installed them on my 2002 FXD with Big shots, everything bolted up nicely , had to put a notch on the heatshield near the rear footboard mount.
