all depends on what you're looking for... i think a lot of folks here (including me) went for forward controls, stage I air filter and download, right off the bat... and got some slip-on pipes from ebay or zanotti's or jpcycles.com. if you want to go with engine modifications, there are a ton of options... but i'd suggest riding the 96ci with the stage one for a few weeks first before cracking open the engine itself... but that's just my 2 cents.

Best place to start with the most bang for the buck (IMHO) is with the SE Stage 1 intake, SERT or Power Commander, and a new set of pipes. Maybe dyno it to dial it all in. Then look at suspension upgrades like progressive shocks, etc. After you ride your bike for a while other things become apparent, not that you'll 'need' them, but things you just might 'want'. Then there's always all the doodads to customize it. Look around this forum at what others have done to their Bobs and you'll get a bunch of great ideas. Good Luck!

thanks for the reply guys. I talked to a local guy and he suggested basic engine upgrade. i want to make it a little faster, just a little engine work. heads, cam, air filter, fuel management......
