think ive decided on the 204 cams with head work and milling to bump up compression to 10.1 to 10.5 to 1 compression.. please feel free add any pros and cons to my descision before I pull the trigger

I put in the 204's the past spring and I could not be happier. My numbers are in my sig, but the HD tech told me if I had head work it would have put me well into the hp range you speak of.

I love my Wood 222s, but if you're having head work & bumping compression the 555, 777 or 888 cams are better choices.

The 222s & 555s have .555 lift, the 777s & 888s have .575 lift. The 555s will come on at about 2,500, the 777s at about 3,000 & the 888s about 3,500. Depends on how you want to ride your bike. For comparison, the 204s only have .508 lift.

The SE 204 cams are a good cam throughout the rpm range, but they're more comparable to the Wood 222, but with less lift & slightly more duration on both sides. Both the 222s & 204s are a low to mid rpm cam and run well through the whole rpm range. My tuner gets better numbers out of the 222s on the dyno with no other mods. However, the 204s accept other mods better (heads & compression increase) than the 222s.

Comparing the SE 211s to the Wood 555s, 777s or 888s....any of those choices from Wood is going to make more hp & tq than the 211. Forget about the 211.

Can't go wrong with Wood, especially for torque. If you're shooting for those numbers, I would go with the 777 or 888. You're going to get a lot more out of the 777s or 888s hands down than your other choices.

Step back, take a breath, and do more homework - if you are mentioning the 204s and the 888s in the same sentence you need to rethink. Those cams are not in the same ball park by miles.

Had to come back and add on - previous remarks kinda sound rude, not the way I want to come off.

Nail down your goals like 2up or solo or a compromise, where do you want your cams to come on - early, mid, late, do you want them to be somewhat aggresive or tame - etc, etc. Like to me, if you are getting headwork and bumping the compression, I cannot imagine chosing the SE 204s with .508 lift. With headwork and compression, I would be looking in the .550 to .575 lift range.

thank you for all the info guys I appreciate the advice I have all winter to worry about ths so im doing my research now and getting to work probably in jan or feb of 14 my riding is sometimes 2 up but my other rider is light. want something that has an incredible sound to it and a nasty lopey idle. called Harley to ask about there se line of cams and the guy on those phone acted like I was speaking german. called woods and talked to bob he was able to answer all my questons

now with that kind of lift what springs do u guys recommend im pretty sure the stock springs wont handle it and should I change the lifters ?? bob said don't worry about the oil pump because my 09 already has one in it that's plenty for what Im doing in new to bikes and just trying to pick ppls brains so I only do this job once

You have a stock 96ci right? Are you saying cam and some head work will take you to 100hp? What were you thinking?

Correct me if I am wrong
