I'm having an issue with my tail lamp. I have the Tri Bar LED Tail Light. PT number 68546-09. It's been on my bike for about 4 years. It works fine when my bike isn't running, but after I start my bike it stops working. All of the other lamps are working fine turn signals, license plate light, headlights, etc. All of my fuses are good as well. Does anyone have any experience with this. Do I just need a new tail lamp, could it be my STT module, the wiring harness or even something else? The Tri Bar lamp is almost $300 so I don't want to go buy another one only to find that isn't the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

Maybe something going on with the circuit that sends power to the light while the engine is running. I have no idea how to test that though.

the original lamp has four prong holes but only three prongs at 1,2,and 4.move the fourth prong to the 3 position on the tri bar.

I can't believe your Tri-bar has lasted 4 years! My mounting tabs cracked at 6 months, I installed a 90 degree aluminum fitting that holds it in place but it rattles like crazy at certain rpms. I would never spend another dollar on a new Tri-bar light, just trying to figure out what to replace it with.

I checked the prongs. They're all good. 1,2&3 are there and in alignment. I did see what Viciousvinny was talking about, there's no 4th prong. Should there be?

Alansummers you're right both of the things you mentioned were happening to mine as well, but in my opinion nothing out there looks as good as the TriBar so I can't go back now. This is what I did to 'fix' the rattling and the screw tabs. I put some of that thick Foam double stick tape underneath. Now it doesn't even budge. It's actually tough to get out now because it fits in so snug. My screw tabs broke as well. I fiberglassed some washers that were the same size to the unit and I haven't had an issue since. If I do buy a new one I'm going to do both of these things again.

If you still have your original tail lamp assembly. You could swap it back in. This would eliminate harness issues.
