I'm making near 100tq a the rear wheel & using the stock spring & never had it slip on the dyno or while riding. I also use synthetic (Amsoil) in the primary.
Maybe it will weaken over time, but so far it's been fine.
If I ever have any issues I will go to the 37871-98A spring....320lbs compared to 258lb stock Dyna clutch spring. The SE spring is excessively stiff & unnecessary unless you're making crazy numbers.
My 2010 Super Glide Custom did exactly the same thing so when I took it in for service, I asked HD dealer to adjust clutch. After I got it , it would not disengage completely, but didn't slip. Not bad but it still pulled a little when I revved at a stop light.
Next service I took it in and told them now it wasn't disengaging properly. When I picked it up they told me the clutch was burned up and replaced, but they couldn't get HD to honor warranty since the clutch is a wear item.
I raised a little hell while there, telling them one, they are the only ones ever to adjust the clutch, and two, they never called me to get permission to proceed with replacing it. After about twenty minutes discussing, tech on desk duty, told me to take the bike without paying for clutch and he would sell it to the service manager.
My point is you should still be under warranty, so let the dealer fix it. I nearly screwed up by waiting so long to let them look at it.

"Here are the spring specifications. Open your Derby cover to view your spring color.
The 103 Police/Tri Glide/CVO spring is 364 pounds. Pink Dot (37807-03)
The SE Spring = 386 pounds. No Color (37951-98)
Pink Dot/Yellow Dot spring = 320 pounds. Most newer Touring bikes (37871-98A or 37871-04)
Blue Dot/Dark Red/Brown Dot spring - 257 pounds. Most older bikes (37882-06)"

I'd be suspicious of these numbers. Something is not right. P/N 37951-98 is listed as both the SE spring and the dark red/ brown dot spring with corresponding spring rates of 386 and 257 lbs. and that cannot be correct.

I dont see any dots on mine.... this is the SE Extra plate kevlar clutch and thicker spring. Yeah and that flywheel assembly is why i want to back it off a little. It seems dressers tend to twist flywheel assemblies when the front wheel goes up....
The clutch was not holding after my motor mods so i changed the clutch. After i changed the clutch I have a dent in the front fender where the chrome crash bar dented the top when the front end came down hard, the transmission case wall blew out around the main bearing, the rear hub spun the spokes loose and now the flywjheel assemply scissored with 0.065" pinion runout.

Thanks for finding that for me. I uploaded the test site instead of the live site.
That's fixed now. It should read...

If you guys want a bullet proof clutch assy with a light lever pull you should check this out. I've put this in many two wheel and trikes. Very smooth on the friction zone and shift. No slipping and a fraction of the cost of something like the scorpion.
