Default Started my hard bag mod

Well i started fitment for my hardbag upgrade. i know i know i should have cut the bags for the shocks BUT my kids legs would have been on the lids and not on the footpegs as required by law here for passengers so the bags went rearward more

i still ahve to finish the fender but heres the brackets semi mocked up and positioned

bag resting on bracket

Looks good so far man. I've been kicking around the same idea. Are the dimensions wider than the leather bags? I split lanes every day so that's a concern for me. Keep us posted on the progress. What brand did you go with?

they are the exact same dimensions as factory touring bags forget what they are off hand but got them from Fairingplus.com. seem to be of better quality then the OEM abs bags and all the holes are where they should be so im happy for the $150 i spent on the bags and lids.

The only ones I see on that site are $500 and up. Which ones did you get for $150?

Excellent! Thanks for the link! I've been wanting to do the hard bag mod myself for a while now, so I can put my jacket and tools without having to carry them around around campus. I would lose some lane-splitting capabilities though, oh well...can't have it all!

It looks like your problem is the seat not the bags. From the photos it looks like the passenger part is further back than normal.
