I just found this on another forum. There are always allot of rumors around but if this is true it might help you make up your mind (get the 05).

Worse news yet. I just posted in the Touring area. I just got back from dealer after wanting to drop 10K deposit on 06 Street Glide with Stage II 95ci upgrade. NO GO. As of today dealer was told from MoCo that all 06 upgrades are off the table. EPA cracked down this weekend and (I am told from dealer) $25,000 fine to do upgrades to 06 bikes, MAPs or SERTs may be off the table also. What crap. HD will have to move (hope) to 95 ci and 6 speeds to keep up next year as stock issue.

Guess I should have jumped on the 05s when I had the chance. I would not have wanted to have ordered the bike yesterday only to be told "bike is yours...sorry but no upgrade".

Guys,

I'm sorry but I feel "compelled" to give my .02 on this one here.....[&:]

I bought an '05 Superglide as some of you know....It has 600 miles on it, and I have modifying it since it had 17 miles on the clock, when I pulled her in the garage! (no kidding!!!)[&:]

You fellas (and gals), buy a darn manual, and wrench it yourself! Im not gonna lie, I HATE to work on bikes, i'd rather just polish and ride, but first I gotta build it into "my" bike, i.e. it's not okay for other peoples Superglides to look like mine, so I do it......Not too concerned about the law.....a little yes, but life is short and I'm not gonna ride a stocker, but that's just me. Do the right thing and get the '05 Low rider. I wanted a "stripper" with EFI and wire wheels.....that way I saved $$$$ and am building it MY WAY!!!!! Me and "POCOCJ" are on the same wavelength on this....NO windscreen, NO bags, ALL stripped down and light, making MAX power out of a reliable but tweaked "88"

..........and life is good!

SC- did they happen to say what dealer it was? I haven't seen anything on this in any other forum, I'm going over to Moroney's in the morning for parts, I'll see what their take is. Just makes me glad I bought an '04.

Freed, as much as I love my Super Glide, for $200.00 I'd go with the Low Rider. Same engine and frame (I think), but there is a styling to the Low Rider that is different than the 'Glide. Hell, you'll spend $200.00 in chrome bling the first trip back to the dealer.

Bob,

I was at Camp Hansen in 1965.

If you are going to be home in November get the Lowrider. Why wait to reward yourself for your service.

Regards,

Bill

Well, I just got back from talking to the salesman. The 13720 is for a black, carbuerated lowrider. The price doesn't include the extended warranty, freight, stockage fee..... so the total comes to 15800. I am getting the 06 super glide and hoping HD makes it quick. I would like the lowrider but I can't afford it right now. Maybe next time. Thanks for the input.

Hijacking here, but the Marine deal just get us all going. Camp Schwab, 1990, 3rd LAI BN!!!! I agree about the Low Rider, but I would make the same choice for the price diff!

I just got back from spending $13423.50. It's gonna be fire red pearl and I got the 5 Yr ESP and the security system. I requested delivery for 1 Dec but they still said probably Mar. They said if HD builds one like I ordered before then they will send it out for me. It will look like the attached pic.

Getting off the subject a little.. We just had a typhoon that missed us and have another inbound for Mon or Tue. Max winds are expected to be 170 kts (195.6 mph). It's been a slow season this year as all of the typhoons have missed us.
