Thinking of getting some heated gear. Going to start with just gloves but am curious as to wheather to get actual gloves or just liners. Also, thinking of Firstgear. Any opinions would be appreciated.
+1 on the Gerbings. Do yourself a favor and get the jacket liner and dual controller also. The jacket "pre-wires" everything (wiring is already in the arms to plug the gloves into) making getting plugged in a breeze!
ALMOST FORGOT - Captain Itch controller mount! It puts the dual controller at your fingertips making adjusting the temps EZ! Let see - gloves (not liners), jacket, dual controller and Captain Itch mount! YEP, That's about it!!

-20 here so the heated gear is nice. Get the complete set. Handgrips will work for the hands. You needs wiring from the control so buy a vest and arm chaps to go with the gloves. We don't know where you live so its hard to tell if you need the gear or are a ***** when it comes to cold. Lots of good stuff on ebay. Sorry about the ***** remark. My bikes have been parked for a month now. Snow is blocking the doors.
If you want to consider an alternative, I got Powerlet gear. Heated jacket liner and glove liners with a wireless dual remote. Only used it once so far on a mid-30s day, but they had me wondering why I hadn't bought them before.
I just looked at prices on J&P ... they are asking $249 for the jacket liner. Must be holiday prices or I just lucked out bigtime because I got the jacket liner and the glove liners from them for $150 in September.
Gloves, just make sure you get gauntlet gloves to cover the jacket sleves and keep the cold air out. Gerbing is a good product, I have bot the liners and the gloves and use both equally. Also jet get the jacket liner as to the vest, its nice to have it prewired in the sleves for the gloves and not trying to wire up your jacket. The dual controller is also a good idea, so you can control the temps between the jacket and gloves. I picked up one of Captain Itch's controller pads that magneticly mount to the tank and it is soooooo nice to have when adjusting my controller.
