Thanks everyone for the feedback. Maybe I'll have to try some low ones to see if it improves my elbow. But I can't say I really like the look at this time, although they looked great on Captain America
I did it for comfort as well, but also prefer the look and feel of apes. You can see by the photo below that it has really helped my back and shoulder fatigue on longer rides...

Ape hangers & Wide Glides go together better then anything I can think of. Nice ride Rock, and everyone else with apes on Wide Glides.
Anyways, I recently put 14" apes on my Steet Bob from the stock 10" which was after having a sporty with 'normal' bars on it. I keep going higher. The only complaint I have is the wind pressure at highway speeds, but after a while I don't even notice it anymore unless it's really windy out. If I could legally go higher, I would. I didn't notice much of a handling difference, and I can still drag motorcycle parts on the ground easily enough.
I can say that before my Street Bob I never considered a bike with Apes, matter of fact I was Biased by them for some unknown reason, but when I was buying my Street Bob, it was seriously considering the Super Glide or the Bob and the Apes actually sold me, they feel so comfortable while riding and have improved my posture making it a nicer ride for me.
I went with 16's, I personally really prefer the feel of riding with them, and they look awesome. They force me to sit up alittle bit straighter and in turn makes long distances easier on my back
