Anyone put any other type of bars on their low rider? Not to fond of the stock setup. Pics and comments would be appreciated. I've got a set of older (02) heritage bars been thinking about trying but would like to see and hear of any one else that's maybe done this. Thanks
Here is a pic of my nephews 2007 FXD that we put stock fat bob bars on. We bought them from a forum member for 75 bucks and they were virtually brand new.
I think the picture in Rooti's post is an FXD, not FXDL.
With the FXDL the handlebar clamp uses an odd bolt hole pattern/spacing, which makes swapping risers only a challenge. So you will probably need to replace risers and clamp, then you need to figure out what to do with the idiot lights. Some people relocate them to the instrument cluster, some fabricate a bracket to work with new handlebar clamp, and some just disconnect them and leave them off.
It's a FXD that we put a different tank and console on to get the idiot lights and speedo off the handlebars.
The wiring is almost the same on all the dyna's that year and I was able to hook up the idiot light wires to the new console and everything worked great
I just got a set of Flanders G5 Flat Trackers for Christmas. Unfortunately I have been sick since New Years and I have not yet had a chance to install them so I do not have any pics. They are similar to the stock bars and they are setup for internal wring. When I originally bought the bike a few years ago the guy I got it from had put 4" risers with drag bars. He never changed cables or brake lines and the idiot lights were just flopping in the breeze. He did give me the stock setup and I put those back on first thing. The Flat Trackers should allow me to really through the bike around in the twisties adding to the fun factor. Hopefully next week I can get out there and install them.
I used wild ones 560 on mine. Very comfortable for me. I used a micro led indicator light set that is mounted on my triple tree for the dummy lights. The allow for internal wiring and I didn't have to lengthen any cables.
Was thinking about going with the cat. Bob drag bars for next winter project. Would I need 1.5" diameter risers if I didn't want to stick with the factory risers?

Hey rooti - Not to hijack but those bars look great. What year fat bob did they come off of? Did the risers also come off of the bob?
