One thing to consider is who makes pads for what calipers. I sell calipers as a regular part of our business and have never sold a JayBrake, much less been asked about one. Thus I don't have any input on them.

When you say Brembo's are you referring the calipers that are made for the baggers by Brembo (touring models) or are you talking about real Brembo calipers (that actually say Brembo on them) with a bracket to mount them on your bike? Both are available. I sell lots of PM Calipers and ran them on my my softail and thought they were a drastic improvement over stock without upgrading teh master cylinder.

I'd say if you are staying single disc and not upgrading to dual disc the 9/16" single disc master cylinder is more than sufficient for a 6 piston caliper. Maybe Joe knows something I do not. Not sure.

What year and model is your bike and what is your goal with the upgrade? Dual Disc front or single? Answers to this will help me respond in a more informed fashion.

No sir i learned somethign today! i was under the impression the 9/16 bore would not create enough pressure for the 6 piston that 4 was its max... i though for a 6 piston you had to go to the 11/16... thanks for the imput though i did not know that! one less thing i need to coat now!

Get the Brembo caliper & bracket and 12.6" BrakeTech rotor from motorcyclemetal.com. A pair of those upfront & you will have the ultimate in braking power and feel.

I did the touring model Brembo's on my FXDXT and it was a great improvement over the stock calipers although I am sure the 12.6" rotors with a real Brembo would be even better. Where are you planning on getting this stuff? I am sure I can source it for you.

You'd have to try and get 12.6" rotors from Lyndall racing. Pm who makes all the RSD stuff does not make 12.6" rotors. On my Dyna I spent $200 on teh touring Brembo calipers, got 11.8" rotors and steel braided lines which kept the cost much lower than the other Brembo option.

But it all depends on how much you want to spend as there is always another option out there. We are getting one of these real Brembo calipers to put on our single disc street glide to test it out. Not sure when it is going to come in but once I ride it I'll post some feedback on cost benefit analysis.

Check out The Speed Merchant. They have radial mounts for '05 up GSXR 600 Tokico calipers to mount them on any 2000 up Harley. I will probably go this route when I go to dual front discs. They have mounts for 11.5 and 13 inch discs. A pair of Tokicos run any where from $50 to $100 on ebay.

Other way around. An 11/16 bore would create less pressure than a 9/16 bore.
