I use the HD Denim cleaner on my flat black Ducati Diavel, and haven't used anything else to protect the bike. It just turned 1 year old and looks great.

Don't use anything other than a decent car / bike detergent. Rinse it off well, then dry it with a chamois leather.

Done.

To dust the bike I use the Harley cleaner. If you want it to age and give that aged look apply nothing. However if you are like me and want to maintain the original look I have used Meguiar's Gold Class Carnauba Wax with an applicator. In a cool shaded area I applied small sections at a time and wiped off immediately with a clean micro towel before in drys. This method will maintain the original Matte Luster with no shine.
