There wont be any ground on the lower fork leg. Does your foot brake activate the brake light? I dont have an electrical diagram with me but if Im not mistaken there should be a ground for the hand controls because of the bushings on the risers

Nope. It is the same as the front. I didn't mess with the rear brake and the front brake switch isn't broken as I took it apart this morning. Yes there is a ground and it is reconnected securely.

You MUST retrace ALL of your steps, one by one. Assume nothing is good. You will need to disassemble, inspect, and make sure!

Did you take the seat off and pull any wires out?

Did you take the headlight off and move or manipulate the front connector in any way?

Did you take the front brake control leaver housing apart?

Did you move or manipulate the right control switches or wiring?

Is it even remotely possible that you pinched any wires when you put everything back together?

Did you do anything with the front turn signals?

Did you do anything with the lighting system at all?

Have you looked at a wiring diagram to see how the circuit works? If you don't know how the circuit works and how the wires are routed, then how will you know where to look and that you have found the problem?

HAVE YOU VISUALLY CHECKED AND ELIMINATED ALL OF THESE THINGS?

If you have not, then you are pissing in the wind and it is going to take you longer to find and fix the problem...

I am starting my disassembly process. As I have seen from your posts Skinman13 Murphy is a B! I will let you guys know if this fixes it in a few days.

Murphy is an optimist...life's a B.

You will find your problem and fix it...and feel good that you were able to do it.

Good luck.

@skinman13
You will love this. I was talking to my Dad who is not a mechanic by trade but knows his way around a bike pretty well, anyway, he said just unhook your battery for 30 min then hook it back up. Crazy, but I was like "what the hell"! Anyway 30 min later I hook it back up and Pow F'n brake light works again! I thought this is is the craziest thing that could happen today, then I watch the Super Bowl. Lol. What a day!

Cold-boot...resetting the electronics. Murphy.

Glad you got it up and running...now go ride!

The old F-14A Tomcat had a similar issue...sometimes two of the spoilers on each wing would fail to work...not good on the catapult ready to launch...the quick fix was to have the radar intercept officer (RIO) pull and reset the circuit breaker to the lower left and behind him...the pilots thought we were magicians...saved a few launches doing that.

Ha, not surprised. I was working on mine this weekend changing fluids and sparkplugs. Started it up after changing oil but it died after 5 seconds. No lights or anything. Checked all fuses including main but they were good. Suspected something with new plugs but that didn't explain lack of indicator lights. Only thing I could think of was key switch had suddenly gone bad. However, I decided to check battery even though I knew it was okay. As soon as I touched negative terminal with a screwdriver I heard a relay click. Weird, I didn't even disconnect it. Started it up and everything checked out. So, I took a 2 hour ride. Electrical gremlins.
