I got mine installed and the sag setup. I've only had the opportunity to get out for one ride since getting them on. Bad weather and other obligations have gotten in the way. I'll get a review posted once I get a little more saddle time on them.
These shocks are the exact same design except for the dimensions, mounting, and actual piston design that Geoff May #99 & Aaron Yates #20 the two pilots of Team AMSOIL/Hero EBR 1190RS Factory Team has run this exact JRI shock (only one shock) in the 2013 Geico AMA SuperBike competition (AMA Pro Road Racing), and will continue running JRIs on its factory team motorcycles now that the EBR team is departing for WSBK/World Superbike (more money and more competition) for 2014. In 2013 there were a total of 20 teams started in the Geico AMA SuperBike field, 2 Buells & 2 independent riders are running these same JRI shocks.
The Buell's are twin cylinder and have a significant disadvantage in power but are superb handling machines. How would you now estimate how they will work?
Hey Howard how do these stack up compared to the ohlins that you sell on your site. Can you explain any design or performance differences between the two brands. Do they install with stock bolts and spacers or require different hardware be sourced or made. I have wanted to upgrade my rear shocks for some time and was going in the ohlins direction, but i find the JRI shocks to another interesting option.
Thanks,pete

The two brands are outstanding shocks. They go about the build phlosiphy way different, What is inside of them is built drastically different but I am sure I would not make some people happy here talking about what is inside of them and how they go about manufacturing their products. If you come to Daytona in 10 days, YIKES! 10 Days!!!
I will be in my usual spot at the track, the map is on my welcome page. I will have Ohlins, Penske, & JRI for sale or look at them for yourself.
I am rebuilding a pair of Ohlins shocks right now. Please remember to clean your shock shaft regularly as the crud is dragged up the shaft and into the shock oil. The shock oil is used as a bath and the dirt gets between parts thus causing wear. These main piston rings had the Teflon worn right of of them down to the brass. I am waiting for the shock cylinders to dry so I can examine them for scratches. The shock oil was pure black and I am letting my new solvent run to remove/filter out these impurities. All of this could have been avoided just by cleaning the shafts. I have seen shocks with 75,000 miles on them that were cleaner than these are.
Once the crud settles to the bottom and the oil clears up I will take a picture of it and do a short piece on preventive maintenance (wash the god damned things). It is 7:21 EST now and I got to get a few things more done.
