Your experience with your first HD wasn't unheard of in those days...I rode other brands back then, too. RC51? What about that? Those were awsome machines!

Yeah, what's the scoop on the RC51? I liked those but was more of a suzuki guy from my rice days, so I was seriously looking at a TL1000.

Yeah had a 03 RC51 for about 8 years. Lots of mods done to it. I bought it in july of 03 after crashing a 92 Ducati 900SS (dog, 80 mph and ditch..ugly) which i absolutely loved. The RC was a lot of fun and affectionately known as the pig. It had its issues, overheating, a little heavy, but with a little time, work and lots of money it would stay with just about anything out there in the twisties. I sold it for several reasons, one being i had a reputation of being quick in this area (other peoples opinion, not mine) and would get all sorts and levels of riders trying to ride with me, and it was getting scary to watch some of these folks. So i took a short time off the bike and ended up selling it to a guy in NC. Since i had 2 other bikes to ride i didn't miss it too much (yes i'm lying). But ultimately, it was time for me to slow down and enjoy the scenery.
