Default Dumb question time.

I just put on a new clutch cable on my 07 SB to accommodate the 16" bars. Do I need to open the primary and do the clutch adjustment in there? Or just the cable adjustment, thanks

When I changed my cable I only adjusted the inline cable adjuster.

I would think the only adjustment needed would be the cable itself. You didn't touch the clutch itself so I don't think that would need adjustment.

I say it wouldn't hurt to do both (clutch setting and cable tension)...when's the last time your clutch was set? If its been a few thousand miles then might need both anyway...JMO.

I adjust both when I change the primary oil, at least twice a year.

Unless you live by my motto of: If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.....If you are not having any issues with the clutch leave it alone, just adjust the cable.
Don't take this the wrong way, but if you have to ask that question I am betting you have never adjusted one before.

Haha u r right. I haven't adjusted one before but really how hard can it be. I'm not mechanically retarded. The clutch works fine. I definatly live by the ain't broke don't fix it motto but I've been looking at my bike parked in the garage for the last 3 months (Canada,eh) and can't keep my hands off it...going crazy. Must, work, on bike
