Finished installing my new Wild 1 Psycho Chubby 8" Chopper T-bars on my 2010 FXDC today. This is my first time internally wiring handlebars, and with the help of YouTube and reading the threads, pretty much gave me the basic info to do this. But in reality, actually doing it, especially when you don't have a garage, makes for an interesting time. Cleared up the question of how tall (at least with straight rise t-bars) you/I can go using stock cables and wires. 8 inches for sure, 10 inches if you re-route clutch cable and brake line, wires no problems. The molex connectors proved to be a lot easier than I thought. With everything else during the install, just take your time. Tip: the narrower the tip of your needle nose pliers, the easier to fully remove the white pin connector inside the molex connector. Another tip: use a chain (like a small dog leash chain) to fish the wire harness through the bars. It helps knock out weld splatter inside of the bars and prevent tearing up the wire harness sheathing. And one important tip: Do not forget to install some kind of wedge on your brake lever before removing it! It makes reassembly of the brake lever and switch housing much easier, and helps avoid BREAKING THE TINY BRAKE MICROSWITCH! The key is PATIENCE. I did this under a blazing Hawaiian sun over 3 days (before going to work), took my time, and got it done the right way. I love these bars. I'm 5'6" so the level and reach to my bars are way better than stock. Future projects will be 1/4 fairing, Bassani 2-1 pipe, and Sumax saddlebag conversion kit. Suspension will also be upgraded. Lot's of work ahead in the parking lot! Ride hard, ride safe guy's! Aloha! Hobo.
Same here planning on replacing stock handlebar with a 16"pullback bar from flanders. I'll find out real soon if cables need replacement. Own 2013 superglide custom just standing 5'5" tall.
Everybody is doing black..."Black is the new chrome," black satin, black silk, black everything. Black does look good on a Harley...but when everybody does it, it gets boring...
Same with blue...it seems that everyone that rides in my neck of the woods has either blue with some kind of ghost flames or just blue...must be the most popular color scheme in Houston.
Besides, my SG is dark purple...but it looks black when it is out of the sunlight. When I repaint, I am thinking dark purple...with dark red ghost flames
