Hi all I am trying to decide what to do about a seat for my FXDSE. I would relly like to have a drivesr backrest but also want a cool looking seat. The corbin looks great but OUCH $499 for a solo with out the backrest. I have always had good luck with mustangs but the only seat with backrest that they offer is the WIDE vintage Solo I am afraid that seat will look too big on the bike. I had a standard solo with backrest on my last bike and it was great. Any opinions would be great.
Here's a pic of the wide solo with a backrest. Looks cool the way it sits over the shocks. Really comfortable on long rides. I would think on the SE you may want to try a GEL seat. But the SE says look at me!!!! so it will be hard to add something with a back rest and keep the Cool Factor. I did see a cool backrest last year at Myrtle Beach. It was a sissy bar that moved foward in it's track to be a back rest for the rider. Can't remember much else about it.
Is that detachable or fixed sideplates on your Dyna? My new Mustang wide vintage seat with backrest and pillion will be here wed, but I was worried that it may not fit since the pillion is 12.5 inches wide and my H-D Tallboy is 12 inches wide and it touches the sideplates right now.
Fixed sideplates. It just works better. Most guys I know with the detachables just leave them on anyway. And my pillion seat is also 12.5 inches as well.
Cool deal,. Thanks for the info. I assume that you like your Mustang seat? Everyone I know says they make the most comfortable seat, so I will know tommorow.
