Default Hot start issues, HELP PLEASE

Well I don't post up here often, but love reading all the posts. But wanted to get some input on an issue Im having with my Dyna. Which is, after riding it and it getting up to temp or (hot), then stopping for fuel or what ever. The bike is hard to start, sometimes really hard. I have noticed that the pump doesn't prime during these times. Once it finally does prime the bike with fire off. Also after doing this yesterday, once I got it fired off and back on the road the bike cut off on me as I was going down the road . Acted like it was not getting either no fuel or spark. After sitting on the side of the road for 10-15 min I got it to fire off (pumped primed) and off I went with not issues for over 40 miles back to the house. I have a 2008 FXD with Fuel moto EFI tuner, Fuel moto Stage I intake, and cycle shack slipons. Bike has 24k on it. I don't think its the compensator or battery but I am clueless on what it might be. I had it to the dealer not to long ago and they blamed the tuner and charged me $85. Any input would be so greatly appreciated. I am at a loss and worried about riding it alone or with the wife and getting stranded. Thanks to all.

Just a few things to check....

Battery cables tightened, also check the negative cable where it attaches to the engine/trans case,
Check fuses/relays,
A common issue is a pin hole in the fuel lines inside the tank and
It could also be the fuel pump itself

Thats all the ideas I have. Good luck.

Check the battery cables at both ends, make sure they are tight at the battery. Pull all fuses and relays, smear dielectric grease over the fuse box, rubbing it into each fuse and relay connector groove and re-install all fuses and relays.
Sounds like a bad connection.

Thanks, just finished going threw all the cables, fuses and relays have been changed last worthless trip to the dealer. Master (MAXIE Fuse) was corroded dealer blamed it and the tuner. Have to look at the lines and pump.

I was having that same problem too. 07 fxdc, v&h short shots, big sucker air cleaner, stage 1 download, no tuner. I checked the battery connections, spark plugs and wires, pulled each of the fuses. Seems to be okay now, but Im afraid to stray too far from home.

Yep the dealer lathered up the relays and master fuse with the grease .I just pulled the 15 amp mini fuses and cleaned them off with electrical cleaner and the sockets then added the grease. Have not rode it again yet but we will see with regards to those issues. Really hate these issues. I know its doing this to spite me LOL as I'm getting a new bike at the end of the year. Just don't want to be worried about getting stranded when the wife is with me.

have you ever changed out the fuel filter? I think the problem is inside the tank either fuel pump, fuel hose, fuel pump relay, or clogged uel filter

If you live near the ocean or ride in a lot rain or just humid, check the back of the fuse box. Mine was all corroded and caused many starting problems. Also check/replace the fuel filter and hose inside the tank. Mine had a pin hole.
