Installed progressive 444 today on my bike. Big improvement is the weight of the bike. It feels like I have an empty gas tank all the time. Cornering is much smoother than stock.
As far as riding on pot holes and rough roads, I need more time to evaluate.
More results to come. keep you posted.
That's pretty interesting. The standard spring is set for 210 lbs. I weigh 195 and feel they are a little too much, maybe because I'm comparing to Ricors. No question they are an improvement over stock, and less expensive than Ricor, Ohlin, JRI, etc. My biggest problem is the rebound, which is supposed to be the improvement the 444 has over the Ricor valve. I hit a little too hard coming off some bumps that aren't that big, which I thought may be the spring weight.
Is the preload adjuster all the way up? Looking forward to your update.
I put a set of 444s on and went for my first ride Saturday. They are a big improvement over OEM shocks. Ride was much smoother. Can't really comment on handling, as winds were 20+ mph.
Have to say that these shocks are good as öhlins,no doubt! Had öhlins in my old dyna and night rod,and 444 have very similar performance. Very good shocks, when you ride them in good!
Of course theres no other adjustments than preload, but these were well balanced! Totally worth of money!!!
Once you get them adjusted they ride great. Mine like to be tight on the adjustment . I turned mine down about 3 and a half turns . Till 3 adjustment lines are showing and the rebound is much better. I also put progressive springs in the front and that really balanced things out. Made a very big difference to me. I am 185 lbs. and always ride solo.
