Can I make this work???
The wife got me a DBI Steering Damper for a softtail/fxd bike.
Unfortunately I have a FXDX so there is no headlight bottom bolt. She gets cool points for buying me parts for the bike...so I can forgive her for forgetting its an FXDX.
Can I get a 39mm clamp and run the damper from my frame to the clamp on the far side fork instead of under the headlight?
thoughts?

A damper is a damper, if you can mount it at an angle that allows full lock to lock travel it doesnt care what bike its on.
Most companies use the same damper with various mounting kits for different bikes. So if you call that mfr they will have a kit for your bike I am fairly certain.
