I just bought a Street Bob, and ordered some 14" ape hangers for it from LA choppers. I was torn between the 12.5's and 14's and I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake. I was all set to get the 12.5's, when a guy pulled up on a deuce with 10" harley mini-apes + 4" riser. I sat on the bike and it felt really good, so at the last minute, I changed to the 14's in the hopes that I'll get a similar stance and feel.
I guess my questions is does anyone know if there would be a significant difference in seat vs. handlebar position on the 2 bikes? Softail vs Dyna? It's my first bike, so I may be over stressing a bit about having it perfect.
I think I may have answered my own question. The seat height on the deuce is 635 mm and the Bob is 655, so I think taller is better. Anypersonal experience with apes on either or both wouldstill be very much appreciated.
