So with that hub I would just need to find a hoop that would fit a Fat Bob tire? Would I need new spokes as well?

I don't have spokes for the hub and they are different from the ones on a street bob so I guess your answer would be yes you would need new spokes. I have a list of all the part numbers and they length of each spoke the Buchanan sales. I would imaging that they or maybe a dealer could tell you what length you would require for lacining up which ever hoop you go with. Bottom line I guess is which way would be more cost effective for you. Lacing to a new hoop with a Street bob hub (do you need new spokes?, is the hoop 19") installing (maybe) custom made spacers for both the wheel and rotor or lacing a new hub, a spokes and hoop and using stock spacers. Either way you talking the need for lacing and trueing and new hoop to either hub, maybe new spokes on both applications, one direction would require a purchase of a hub and bearing kit, the other requires machined spacers for the wheel and rotor (around a 1/2" over stock for each). Just some stuff to ponder over, I can tell you this though, the wide glide hub looks more natural between the wider legs.

If you want a 16 inch wheel on the front, all you need to do is:
-Fat Bob trees
-Install your forks
-obtain a 16 inch Electra-Glide or Heritage Softail front wheel
-reuse your spacers that you have now on your bike, brakes will also line up.
-if your new wheel has 1 inch bearings, go get a used 1 inch Electra-Glide axle
if your new wheel has 25mm bearings, get a 25mm Electra-Glide or Fat Bob front axle (they are the same thing) Your fork sliders will accept either axle.
-call back when you want to talk fender potions and GOOD LUCK!!

I did my Fat Bob tree conversion using the Hawg Halters conversion kit. Easy as pie but order it now, it took a while to get my kit.

How I took it a step further is I put it all together and made sure it all fits. Then I stripped it all back down and sent all the spacers and axle over to Joe @ The Powder Pro and had all the conversion parts powdered black to match the trees/forks.

Thanks for the info. I'd still like to use my RWD Rambler fender but need to know if the radius is the same on the Fat Bob and Street Bob tire. If it is then I will have my fender split and a strip of the same gauge thickness metal welded in to widen in. I think a fat front tire with a wrap around fender would look killer!

That would be awesome bro. The rim is a reproduction for an old panhead but it just said to use spokes for a 16" drop center rim. Also this hub isn't chromed is it? I'm planning on having it PC to match the rim.
