Default balanced trued crank?

For those of you that have a balanced trued crank, how does the motor feel, not performance wise just does it feel smooth? is it similar vibes or does it feel like a different bike

I understand the benefits of having tight tolerances and a more reliable, tougher bottom end but i have never ridden a bike that had it done so i was just curios how differnt it feels

Vibration is reduced and all around smoother ride is gained! You can feel the difference but I wouldn't says its crazy noticeable, but I didn't do it for a comfortable ride though.

I think there are so many different things going on after my build that I could not separate out the balanced/trued crank Bike runs great but with the much bigger cams I think any additional smoothness gets offset by the additional power.

Very good point w/ the added power and higher cams the smoothness does get dulled down.

EDIT: you can really tell the difference when the cylinders are off and you spin the crank by holding the rods then after the crank work spinning them again.

cool
i just didnt know
i wasn't sure if it was a dramatic difference , like going from an older softail to a new counterbalanced softail

i am just over here dreamin about doing my motor and wondering which way to go
mine is 06 and i am leaning toward going 98" with headwork, maybe intake work and changing cams ( but stayin with chain drive). I can do that pretty cheap. Then of coarse the other option is crank work and 117" but obviously that is big bucks and i am pretty cheap

117 is definitly BADASS and totally different animal/build than a 98, but if you don't want to drop a lot of dough I would recommend that you stick with the 98". With decent headwork and nice cam you'll have a reliable motor that's over 100hp.

you do not really notice a difference, that is not really there reason for it. it is to add strength. would blow your mind the amount of out of phase cranks I have seen from guys that "didnt need to do it"
