Just recently bought a 2003 Dyna Super Glide with 15k miles in it and want to start upgrading some items.
Ridding at 70 mph has been a chore with the wind so a front fairing is the first in line. My wife is going to be ridding with me on several day trips and I want to start upgrading it for long distance rides that I can remove quickly when in town.
Any suggestions or direction would be great.
Sorry if this topic has been rehashed over and over.
I've got Progressives HD412's on the back of my 02 FXD. Put those on when the bike was used a lot for two up riding, usually adjusted the shocks to the next level of stiffness, think spanner wrench. Then a couple of years ago put the Progressive springs in the forks, real easy job, standard length (not lowering) and there is a noticeable ride difference (better). The 412 series are okay for those on a budget and then there are other high end shocks.
As far as a windshield, research Memphis shade or National cycle. J&P Cycles or Dennis Kirk are also some good web surfing sites for parts.

I put the Progressive 412 heavy duty shocks on mine and it is an improvement over the stock and for the price of them ok, but the 444's probably would have been better. My wife rides with me on occasion and she really likes the Sundowner two up seat I put on. Good luck with your choices and ride safe and carefully.

Progressive makes a good product, have them front and back on the WG and RG. Just installed a rear set on buddies Softail, his wife was very happy after.
412 Standard's here, 1" lower than stock. Rides like a champion down the road. Just dodge the big pot holes mine does not handle those very well. Its a pretty good jolt but your average bump or dip is just fine. They look so much better too!
I upgrade my shocks to Progressive's 444 11.5" shocks. Money well spent. Love them. Ride and handle better IMO. Love the easy adjustable preload. I recommend them.
I was originally looking to special-order Work Performance shocks, but bought used Progressive 13.5" 440 shocks as a temporary fix. Big improvement over stock, and I no longer have to take evasive maneuvers just to get around on the patchy roadwork around here. Get rid of the wet-noodle suspension that comes from the factory!
