Took the top clamp off, cut a coke can to fit around the knurls, Loctite Red, torqued the front/rear/front on the top clamp, yanked on the bars a few time. No movement... yet. I sure hope that holds, I don't think that the way they were was "dangerous" but I sure didn't like it.

You better hope it works, since it's gonna be a real problem getting those riser bolts loose from the red Loctite. The blue stuff is what you put on threads that you will need to remove sooner or later. Red is usually for motor internals and takes a lot of heat to break loose.

Yeah. H-D says to use Loctite 271 Red. I'm no rocket surgeon so I didn't feel like arguing with a book. If they have to be removed in the future I'll use my retard strength and fire.
