Love this response. If the only answers posted on this forum were only directly related to the original question there would be about 2 posts on each thread. Where's the fun in that? It's the bullshit that makes me keep reading.
I agree...that's funny stuff right there. My comment wasn't meant to be bad....I was just attempting to clearify and keep things on track. I like reading the crazy stuff too...but I get aggravated sometimes whan I am searching for info within a thread, only to have to skip through pages where someone got off topic and then a few posters began to argue about something that had NOTHING to do with the topic.
Thanks for the addition of your feedback on the bars. That's what it's about.
Surprised this is still active. Either get apes by whomever and roll or not. Not a big decision. If you can, ride one with them or take the chance. You can always go back. No big deal.
kmontaguesplay;12793924]I called at BRs, the other day and spoke to Traci, (maybe his wife?), and she was very helpful. They seem like a good company to deal with and $300 seems like a fair price for a set of "custom made" bars.
If you don't mind, (and you may have stated this already), but what are the dimensions of your bars? Height, pullback, width (tip to tip), and width at base. Also, how tall are you?
I'm guessing that you liked the clean look of the New Wave 2 instead of the "thunbnail" of the New Wave 3? They look pretty cool too.[/QUOTE]
Bars are 12 in high pullback is 7 i believe and width is 32in always liked the new wave 2s even bought some carlini gangsters first but switched them out for the brs. Fwiw the carlinis were badass just didnt quite fitmybike like the new wave 2s and im 5ft 11 think i paid 575 total for chrome. Worth every penny bill makes excellent bars
I have an 09 bob. Went about 2-3" higher than stock. The handling was definitely more responsive. After a few days I liked the increased responsiveness. It was like, if I even thought about turning, it did. Responsiveness is also a personal preference. As far as opening up like a sail...I did a 2" tank lift, and I swear it drastically reduced the wind hitting me, and I don't use a windshield. The highway winds don't try to pry me off my bob anymore.
I'm glad this thread is still active. I have '14 Bob and I'm not a big guy. I ordered the Biltwell Breezer from Lowbrow yesterday. But today I cancelled the order after reading this and ordered 14" Carlini Menace Apes. Will let you know my impressions.
FWIW, the 8.5" mini apes stock on the Bob are very uncomfortable on long rides- have to take lots of breaks and right hand goes numb. I have a fairly long group ride at the end of this month, I hope I can get the Menace delivered and install it before then.

Hey, Venom....how tall are you? I am looking at getting the Menace also.
A user here has them on his Dyna...they look badass!
Yup....this member, as well as Foxknuckle, have convinced me that these ar THE most BAD A$$ looking apes for the Dyna, out there. My ONLY reservation on them, at this point, is my reach. I'm 5'8" and want to comfortable on long rides. The looks, however, can not be beat!

lesplay,
I'm 5'8" as well. so weird-- I have a '14 bob, black denim, 2" tank lift as well! modding it out as I can afford it.
supposed to get the menace in two days, I'll let ya know how they feel.
really wish there was a place near me that I could just hold several different handlebars up next to my own bike, to get a feel for what's right for me.
