The guy did "upgrade". He got a more suitable bike for his riding style. He also got a more expensive bike. Maybe his first new bike. The above reasons are considered an "upgrade". Don't know why you felt a need to focus in on one word and make an ignorant comment about it but that's another issue.
On a side note, a LOT of people do similar things (get a new bike) when they decide on what riding style they like best. Sometimes your perception of what riding is, and what riding is are two different things. Yea its nice to have a bike to ride around town, but that same bike isn't gonna be comfortable for the long haul most of the time.
Nice bike. I tried to trade my Wide Glide in at the end of last season but the numbers didn't add up right in my head. Instead I bought a used Road Glide. Now I have two bikes and somehow that makes sense to me.

Don't know why you felt the need to make an ignorant comment about his comment. "Upgrade" is a word that's typically used by people who are trying to sell you something, or convince you that what they have is better than yours. Plenty of people travel long distances on bare-bones bikes, and do it by choice, because they find touring bikes boring and numb-feeling. If the priority is comfort and storage, might as well just get a Gold Wing, or drive the car with the windows down.

Congrats again to the OP, The new SG is not "numb feeling" for sure
"Might as well get a Gold Wing" Geeeze Now your just tryin to be insulting
The Street Glide is the #1 Selling Motorcycle in the world for a damn good reason. It is not a Trunk toting, over stuffed seats, Extra Cushy Shocks MotoWinnabago as your trying to portay it.... Jax drove one on the last season of SOA so that's good enough for me..<---If your believe that last sentence screw u
Both are sweet rides I was debating myself but I agree with said above. The Street Glide is nice and comfortable but the wide glide feels like a Porsche compared to the street glide from a size stand point.
