Default Need turn signal help!!

I put in a new pair of rear turn signals that are a two wire set up on a '10 FXDB. When I hook up the positive to the purple wire both turn signals and the tail light start to flash. When I hook up to the blue wire none of them flash and all act as brake lights. Any suggestions?

I have an '05 Wide Glide and the purple/violet sounds like it's the correct one if I'm not mistaken. If it's a harness similar to mine, purple is turn signals, and orange or blue (depending on Domestic or International) is your running light.

When I was relocating my license plate, I got a "non contact tester" (pen light) and a multimeter to check the connections so I could see if it was correct when I applied the turn signals, brake, etc.

Whatever you do, make your life easier and get some Posi-Locks, Tites, Taps, etc. They are absolutely awesome; MUCH better than any crimped connectors or even those "quick" ones they supply with kits. Posi-Lock, Tap and Tite are the ones that I've started using with great success, and they're reusable so no more super-short wires after some future mods!

See how they work and what they look like here

They're cheaper through J&P Cycles

Good luck!

Interesting looking connectors, I have never seen them before. Thanks for the info.

Black wire = Ground
Brown wire w/ white stripe from Control Module = Stop/Right Turn (via the S/T/T Control Module)
Brown wire w/o white stripe = Right Turn (No Control Module)
Purple wire w/ white stripe from the Control Module = Stop/Left turn (via the S/T/T Control Module)
Purple w/o white stripe = Left Turn (No Control Module)
Blue = Running Light
Red w/ Yellow Stripe = Stop Light
Orange w/ White Stripe = ACC Light (always on)

S/T/T=Stop/Tail/Turn

The Running Light is always (30% brightness) on and the Control Module set priority on the Turn Flasher over the Brake Light when both are active (100% brightness).

Still need help, let me know.

Here is how your 2010 Street Bob should be wired stock (how mine was)

Posi-Locks are the ****. I used them in a few VW projects for harness work.

Had to deal with the same problem a few years back when I bought mini bullets. Same two wires as yours, just needed a load equalizer.
