Default Moving a sissy bar back????

Hey guys. I'm a newbie here but love this site. My question is this... I need to move my sissy bar back about two inches. I have a 2013 fxdf fatbob. My ol and me are not small people at all and she can't stand the back pad on the sissy bar because it pushes her forward to much. My thoughts are to take off the side plates and weld on an extention then re drill all the holes. Anyone ever done this or have any alternate ideas. Thanks.

HD makes one that tilts back a little, offered in both chrome and black.

I've got a set of fixed sideplates that I was going to the same with for long-hauls. Decided against it since I didn't want my wife's weight behind the rear axle at all. Worried about the frontend getting any lighter while diving into corners and hotroddin' around. The fab work is very doable, just something to be conscious about. If you do it post pics!

Take the pad off that should take care of that.
