Yeah, I'm always using "Waze" when I'm riding and thats a battery heavy app. Usually it stays the same battery level when connected and when the app is off, charges pretty quickly. Very happy with this solution.

FWIW, I dont know if its good or bad but Ive washed the bike several times and got caught in the rain once. Nothing happened to the terminals, everything seemed to stay dry.

I went that route as well. I wired a cigarette plug direct to the battery with an inline 10 amp fuse...can plug in the phone and gps and the setup doubles as a trickle charge port.

I did the same for the same reasons, but preferred to installiing it on the frame under the battery box, a bit out of sight. It is also easier to use the airman pump on the back wheel...

Your bike and your phone, but I would think a phone would take a hell of a beating in the swing arm bag.

I ran mine up front and tied it to the wiring bundle just in front and to the left of the fuel tank. It is out of sight but easily accessible. I like to listen to my music and hear the gps directions so I wear earbuds and carry my phone in my vest or jeans pocket. I can easily pull over and plug in the charger and keep on putting on down the road grooving to the oldies.

I just ran a 5' battery tender extension to my handle bars.

Then, I can either plug in my gps or phone charger.

I have adapters for each that plug into the battery tender cable.

I did something a little simpler. Made this video about a week or so ago for someone on facebook. I used two battery tender pigtails ($5.50 ea from direct cycle parts), and the 12v aux outlet came from Pep boys. I don't recall how much it was, but it was under $20.

I did the same thing. It hides in the wire loom too and it's easy to get to for the battery charger, GPS, or phone.

I like the Battery Tender suggestion, paired to a USB adapter, tucked into my saddlebags so it can charge the phone while underway.
